Swiss Snow League
From beginner to expert
The Swiss Snow League will teach you skiing and snowboarding from scratch. As a beginner you will learn the basic snow sports skills in the Blue League, which you will consolidate in the ensuing Red League, only to become an expert in the Black League eventually.
Our professional snow sports instructors will record your progress in your personal Swiss Snow League booklet at the end of the week’s course. This ensures that you will always be placed in the right league whenever you take a lesson at a Swiss Ski and Snowboarding School. And at the end of each class, you will receive the medal that corresponds to your level.
Snowgarden
- Getting to know the skis and the snow
- Moving around with unfamiliar equipment
- Walking, turning around and climbing uphill
- Gliding and skiing with skis parallel
Blue Prince / Princess
- Climbing by side stepping and herringbone (scissor) stepping on a gentle slope
- Skiing with skis parallel in the fall line and step turning uphill until you stop
- Gliding and breaking with the snow plough
- Snow plough turns
Blue King / Queen
- Save use of t-bars
- Traversing and slipping
- Snow plough turns (wedge turns)
- Safe skiing on blue runs
Blue Star
- Turning in a miniature slalom jungle
- Tricks in the fall line and traverse
- Jumping off a small jump
Red Prince / Princess
- Slipping and stopping in the traverse and fall line
- Skiing over bumps and dips
- Step turning downhill on a gentle slope with a flat run out
- Parallel turns (skidded)
Red King / Queen
- Parallel turns with various radii on a versatile red run
- Skating step in the plane
- Single ski turns on the outside ski
- Short turns on a easy slope
Red Star
- Parallel turns in a run of slalom gates
- Tricks: Fakie (intorduction), waltzing, single ski turns on the inside ski
- Jumps: Extension jump
Black Prince / Princess
- Short turns on difficult runs
- Synchro skiing
- Parallel turns off-piste
- Carved parallel turns on a broad, easy slope
Black King / Queen
- Various carving techniques on a broad and versatile slope
- Parallel turns in the mogls
- Jumps: Straights(at least 3)
- Various short turns (at least 3)
Black Star
- Slopetricks: Ollie, fakie, rotations
- Park: Railslide
- Jumps: Tricks (grabs, spins...)
